Hi, I am new to this group. Am in therapy for anxiety disorder and have a history of depression, panic attacks, obsessive thinking, worrying etc. I have been married for 18 1/2 years and my mother in law doesn't like me, she stopped liking me right after the wedding. My husband doesn't understand how I feel, he just wants me to suck it up and let her say and do whatever she wants. This problem causes a lot of arguments between my husband and me. Because of my panic issues etc. I find being around her very stressful. We have three children and I want to work things out but everytime I try to, she gets nasty and calls me names. Now, I don't like her either and would like to avoid her as much as possible. My therapist says I need to think about my feelings and not focus only on her. Hard for me to do and I have to think of my husband and children. Anyone else have a similar situation? Any words of wisdom? Thanks for letting me vent.

First of all, hello and welcome Very Happy

How awful that you've had to endure this for 18 1/2 years. I've not had a similar experience so I don't really have any advice to give, but I hope someone can.

Hi,

I love your pictures, and thanks for caring enough to reply. It would be nice if someone had some words of wisdom. But all any of us can do is our best and live one day at a time.

Have a great day Smile !

Awwww thank you Very Happy As for words of wisdom, I'm not sure. I guess you could take what she says with a grain of salt. Be the bigger person and bee uber nice even when she's nasty, that would get right up her I reckon. Would be hard I guess with your anxiety issues, do you take medication??
